Day 1 – Fly from New Zealand: Fly from Auckland/Christchurch/Wellington airport.

 

Day 2 – Kolkata:You are welcome at Kolkata International airport by one of our representatives, and transferred to your Hotel in your personal chauffeured vehicle.Relax for the night and get rid of Jet lag if you have been traveling internationally or explore local restaurants or bazaars. Your vehicle is at your service. Your hotel in Kolkata is ‘The Astor Kolkata’.

Day Highlights:

Welcome at Kolkata airport and transfer to your hotel.

Day 3 – Kolkata: After breakfast, we’ll leave for the iconic Howrah Bridge. Enjoy the morning boat ride on Howrah Bridge. Take this photography opportunity and go for a guided walk of nearby flower market at MullickGhat. Visit Victoria Memorial in the afternoon. Victoria memorial is an iconic building in Kolkata, built during British era and a fine example ofBritish Architecture. It also houses a museum inside. After your Victoria Memorial tour take an advantage of Victoria Ride in the evening. Victoria Ride is a Horse Cart ride which encircles around Victoria Hall. Ask your expert tour guide about the recommended restaurant for dinner or head back to your hotel for the dinner.

Day 4 – Kolkata: Start your day with a street food breakfast at Terreti Bazaar famous for its local Breakfasts and fresh produces. Stop at Kamartuli to visit the idol workshops and witness the idol making that has been in practice from more than a millennium. Proceed to 160 years old Dakshineshwar temple and see what it offers. Take a boat ride to ‘Belur Math’ from ‘Dakshineshwar temple’. Belur Math is the main quarters of ‘Ramakrishana mission’ and founded by ‘Swami Vivekanada’. It has the special Architecture which is the blend of Hindu, Muslim and Christian Architecture. More history waits for you at ‘Belur Math’. Stop for a tramway ride if you would like to or ask your experienced personal tour guide for more recommendations and dine in options.

Day 5 – Fly to Bagdogra: You will be dropped at the airport after breakfast and according to your flight timings. Take a 50 minutes flight to Bagdogra where one of our representative would be waiting for you with your chauffeured vehicle and you’ll be driven to your hotel in Darjeeling which is 2 and half hours’ drive. Most probably you’ll call ‘Ramada Darjeeling’ your home for next couple of days or you can also choose to stay in ‘Singtom Tea Estate and Resorts’ for more Tea Estate experience. Check in your hotel and relax for the evening.

Day 6,7 – Darjeeling: Post breakfast, start your day from ‘Batasia Loop’. You can have 360 degrees view of whole of Darjeeling town and ‘Kanchenjunga Mountain Range’ from here.  Experience a heritage transport of ‘Toy Train’ for couple of hours in first class before heading to the cable car station.

From the cable car you can get breath-taking view of the valley below, see the spread of lush green tea gardens on the hill slopes, flowing rivers, forests, waterfalls and to top it all the magnificent view of the Eastern Himalayan range including the snow-capped peaks of the Kanchenjunga. Where else can you get such a bounty of the nature all in one place?

Note that on 19th of every month, the Ropeway remains closed for maintenance operation.

Visit Happy Valley Tea Estate in the afternoon if you are not staying at the Tea Estate or spend this time at your estate otherwise.

Day 8 Darjeeling to Pelling: Welcome to the scenic drive to Pelling. But before heading there you might like to visit Peace Pagoda and visit 18th Century Ghoom Monastery. Highlight of this monastery is 15 feet tall statue of lord Buddha. On your way to Kalimpong, have a stopover at Tiger Hills to get a clearer view of Kanchenjunga and Everest (if the day is not foggy).The Himalayas and the Kanchenjanga may be viewed at close quarters from Pelling. Pelling also forms the base from where trekkers and other peripatetic adventurers undertake the strenuous and arduous treks in West Sikkim. The land around Pelling is still a virgin territory and is bathed with alpine vegetation, with numerous waterfalls lining the hillside. In the months of winter, Pelling is sometimes covered with a blanket of snow. Choose to stay among a home stay or a local hotel.

Important places near Pelling

Places to visit in and around Pelling include the local monastery, the rock garden and waterfall at nearby Rimbi, the imposing double-pronged Kanchenjungha Falls, the archaic quaint Singshore Bridge, the Chhange Waterfalls, the Khecheopalri/KhechuperiKhecheopalri Lake holy to Buddhists and ancient Pemyangtse/PemyangshiPemayangtse Monastery. Other proximate locations to Pelling are Yuksom, Rinchenpong, Dzongri and HeeBurmiok.

 

Day 9,10 – Gangtok: Join us on this scenic drive to the capital city Gangtok. Stay in a luxury hotel in the city for couple of nights to experience the local shops and bars. The Mahatma Gandhi Road or M G Road in short is the main marketing area of Gangtok for tourists. The road is lined with all types of shops on both sides. A pert of the shopping area here is known as New Market. The shops usually open by 8am in the morning and close by 7pm. The market here is closed on Tuesdays. While there are large number of shops selling men’s and women’s dress materials, shoes, souvenirs & gifts, trinkets etc, one of the unique things here to buy is Sikkimese Cups. These have unique and attractive traditional Sikkimese designs printed on them and come in different color combinations.

 

Day 11 – Gangtok to Lachung: Travel to the furthest point in Sikkim in Lachung. Visit Katao valley close to China Border, have a stopover at Lachung monastery on your way to Yamthung valley. Appreciate the beauty of snow-capped Himalayas on your way to Kalimpong.

Day 12 – Lachung to Kalimpong: Check in your hotel. We’ll do our best to book ‘Deolo tourist lodge’, because of its location, otherwise stay at the luxury of ‘Summit Barsana Resorts and Spa’.

Day 13, Kalimpong: Start your day with a scenic view of Kalimpong from your hotel. Head to Durpin Monastery after breakfast to get a mesmerizing view from Durpin Dara hill. Get a view of ‘Teesta River’ from ‘Jelepela View Point’. Add activities like river rafting at Teesta or Trekking according to your convenience.

Day 14Kalimpong to Bagdogra: Today you’ll be driven to Bagdogra Airport via Siliguri according to your flight timings to Kolkata. Stay in the proximity of Kolkata International Airport.

Day 15 – Departure: You’ll be driven to your departure terminal from your hotel after Breakfast according to your flight timings.
